Travel: Singapore

My Loves,

Last year was my last post on this Blog and I never found the time to sit down and write. I changed my job, new adventures and experiences came up, and the first thing was to get everything in order and get to know the new challenges.

I am now 4 years vegetarian, still feels like first steps in new shoes. But I feel quite comfortable and also I love the #healthylife ;).

I want to give you some insights of my journeys, which I am doing this year quite often. And of course work comes first, and you work more then in Germany. BUT I try to find a balance čÖé Here are my tips for veggie journeys and also to find some solutions for a healthy and fit life on the run.

First time Asia! Guys I was starting my year with a coulpe of trips in Europe just for 2 or 3 days. But I got the opportunity to travel for the first time to Asia. Most of the people say that Singapore is not really Asia because it is very western, crazy clean and very safe.

I was living in a workspace area the first week and on the first evening I found nothing to eat because everything was closed in this area after 8 PM. „So, this is Singapore?“ For the first time it was a bit challenging to get something warm to eat without meat and no idea of asian food. Just saying „veggie pork“ nope not veggie but if you want to eat turkey or chicken :-D.

In most shops and restaurants you can pay with the NETS card (metro card). And food is always super good and cheap in foodcenters in the malls on the ground floor.

For women, Singapore is super safe and also the Indian district is no problem. You should really go there and have dinner in one of the restaurants. You will find flower markets and indian temples. Little India is a wonderful experience and most of the time they have a festival going on and you experience a bit the indian culture.

My Recommendations:

Khansama Restaurant, try the Palak Paneer and the spinach curry. Share it with your friends and get some Samosas. I had a wonderful friend with me who is indian and she ordered all this wonderful food. After dinner you can stroll around the district and inhale all the good spices of India.

Selfie Coffee, this place is super small and is in Haji Lane in the Arabic District. This is such a great place and you get your Selfie (yes you can drink your picture) on a Iced Coffee with different flavours.

StraitsKitchen, is a Restaurant in the Grand Hyatt in Singapore and the great thing is you get every taste of Asia on different counters. It’s a Singaporean gastronomic tour and you can find a taste of ethnic Chinese, Indian and Malay cuisine.

PS.Cafe at Harding Road, was one of my highlights. In a buzzing city like Singapore you arrive at this place which is so peaceful and you think you are in a pavillion in the middle of a jungle. Truffle Fries were my highlight and I had a very good Superfood Salad as well.

Haakon, is a good choice for take away healthy and organic food. The have acaii bowls (my newst addiction), salads, juices and more. You can find it on Orchard Road or Holland Village.
